Lector (Qarouya) Matthew
Life Story
Lector Matthew is a native of Yonkers, New York, and grew up and was baptized at Mar Mari Parish. He has been serving the parish since his ordination in November of 2014. Lector Matthew is currently attending college, where he is perusing his academic interests in government and politics. He is also a member of the Mar Mari Church Youth Group, and has previously served as Youth Group President. Lector Matthew’s enjoys spending his free time with his family, which includes his parents and brother. His passions include advocating for Assyrians and preserving Assyrian language and culture. He also enjoys playing the guitar, singing, travel and is a true foodie.
